One man's fight to save a homeworld, and his friends, from total destruction. The Green homeworld is under attack by an aquatic species known as the Hydra. The Greens have mounted a desperate defense, but their planet is falling. Surus, a Green who just so happens to be the current employer of Rade and his Argonauts, plans to return to her homeworld to offer what aid she can. Rade agrees to help, as humanity owes her a great debt. After Rade and his team arrive in specially constructed Titan battle suits, they are soon tasked with a covert operation involving the Hydra empress. When the mission turns sour, Rade must call upon all of his training to save himself and his men, and salvage what little of the operation he can. But it may be too late.

Alien Empress Argonauts Isaac Hooke Books

I really enjoyed Alien Empress, the 3rd book in the Argonauts series by Isaac Hooke. In this book we find Rade and his crew continuing in the employment of Surus, the Green phant, as she returns to help defend her home world from attack. The Argonauts decide to go with her to help defend their world, and suddenly end up in a battle between two much more technologically advanced races.

As with most of Hooke's works, I can't really say too much without giving anything away. This book is fast paced, and there is a point where you think things are wrapping up, only to realize that there are still more pages to turn. The battle scenes and the plans for the covert operations are well thought out and well described. In this book we also see a bit more character development and see a little more about how Rade ticks, and just how much he will sacrifice for his men. But we also see another side of Harlequin, the artificial, and just how much the Argonauts care about their brothers, no matter how much they joke with each other.

Overall, this is another great read. The Argonauts series is stand-alone, but I highly recommend reading the Atlas and Alien War trilogies, because they are great books, and they give you more backstory on everyone.

Alien Empress Argonauts Isaac Hooke Books Reviews

The third book of the Argonauts Series was just as exciting as its predecessors. The Argonauts' relationship with their alien employer has gotten riskier and more fragile but still promises more adventures in the works. I am looking forward to more page-turning enjoyment with the next installment.
The Green homeworld is attacked and the Argonauts are involved in the fighting to protect the hives. They then become involved in saving an an alien queen.
Political shenanigans from the Greens get them further involved into the interspecies fighting.
Okay, now that the Argonaut series is complete, I can get back to my life. I am absolutely gobsmacked at the speed this man writes astonishingly excellent tales. Three outstanding books released in just one week. Wow! And, they are all good... really good! This series is guaranteed to make you a fan of Mr Hooke.

I have one favor to ask of Isaac; please wait at least two weeks before you give us another of your excellent tales.
This is the third stand-alone book in Hooke's new Argonauts series. As usual, I must recommend it, though I get the sense that sometimes Mr. Hooke starts rushing the writing just a little. Still, this is a rapidly moving and engrossing story in a universe that is largely hostile to humankind. The characters have now been around long enough to have taken on a life of their own. I will definitely continue to await and read the author's continuing work.
Great ending for this series. I love the aliens as well as the battles when you meet them. I know when picking up an Isaac Hooke book that I will meet some new and different aliens and this book is no exception.
As usual, Rade and party are over their heads but going full speed ahead regardless. There are some twists and a few surprises waiting for you in this book that are provided for your reading enjoyment.
If you have read the first 2 you wont want to miss this one that caps the series and leaves you wondering what is next.
This is the third (supposedly final)book of this mini series. We continue into our foray of all things bugs n aliens, it's a fun time for all (well for some of the members at least), as the hunt for phants is temporarily put on hold to help allies. At the end, the questions of loyalty may very well be stretched.
I personally loved this series, it kept me guessing at how their gonna get out of the countless messes they all seem to find. Definitely worth the read if your a fan of Rades.

"I'm so looking forward to this s**t", Bender said. "Last time we had to deal with an alien queen, this time we gots ourselves an alien empress." He broke into spontaneous song. "Giant bugs roasting on an open fire...Jack Frost nipping----"
"Stop ruining Christmas songs!" Manic said.
Contains a few spoilers Alien Empress is the third book in the Argonauts series and just like the previous books it contains plenty of adventure and action, the usual crudity (which I generally skip over, to be honest this type of language isn't my thing, but it in no ways deminishes my enjoyment of these books) and some mild sexual content. This time our intrepid 'security consultants' are asked by Surus (a Green Phant inhabiting an AI body) to help fight in the Green's defense of one of their worlds against the Hydra (a squid-like alien species). Before long they find themselves caught in the middle of two rival Hydra groups as well as trying to survive in a liquid methane environment, protected only by their Titan mechs. Naturally things get hairy frequently and the reader is left wondering whether our heroes will come out the other side intact, not to mention alive. Hooke continues to develop his heroes and we learn how far Rade will go to protect his 'family' and what Harlequin means to the team. A recommended series if you like books that are sheer entertainment, have great characters and story-lines and a wonderful variety of bugs in all their creepy glory )
